With a horizontal / lying log splitter, the log must be lifted onto the work surface. The standing log splitter makes this work easier. The piece of wood only has to be tilted and levered onto the work surface at one end. This means less effort.

Nevertheless, raising the logs for splitting is tedious and exhausting. With the  lifting mechanism  of the  1100mm log splitter  , however, this becomes child's play. Simply roll the log onto the lifting arm and then raise the splitting wedge again so that the lifting arm straightens the log.

The functionality is basically the same for standing and lying log splitters. Hydraulic pressure generated by   the electric motor and hydraulic pump drives a splitting wedge lengthways into the log. This will break the wood in two. Hardwood, trunks with side branches, heavy woods such as black pine, hornbeam, etc. are generally much more difficult to split. With this log splitter  , you can also split very heavy wood that can be split effortlessly.
